Government officials, entrepreneurs, professionals, diplomats among others will on Saturday October 28 gather at Torino Bar and Restaurant, Kololo in Kampala to raise money towards supporting refugees.
The event will be hosted by comedian Daniel Omara.
Organised by Powah Limited, an energy distributing company, the proceeds from the event will be committed to purchasing solar lights to Bidi bidi refugee community.
The community hosts refugees from South Sudan.
According to officials, Powah Limited targets to provide 1000 solar lights to the settlement by the end of the year.
“Our focus is to provide lights for education for school and children and lights for health in medical institutions,” reads a statement from Powah.
“The goal of the Cocktail Event will be to reach 300 light, thus the need to engage the private, diplomatic and governmnet agencies all around.”
Tickects to the event can be purchased at Torino Bar and restaurant or Fairway Hotel Saasi’s shop,
