POTRAIT: All You Need to Know about New Uganda Cranes Coach Desabre

Today at FUFA House in Mengo –Kampala, the Federation unveiled Sebastien Desabre as the new Uganda Cranes Coach.

With close sources claiming that Desabre will earn 25000 US dollars, he has signed a 3-year contract.

The 41-year-old Desabre has never coached a national team but has a lot of club experience, mainly in North Africa with spells in Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria and Morocco.

He speaks French, Arabic and English.

Born in August 2nd, 1976 in Valence, Desabre is a French footballing coach.

He started his coaching career in France at ESC Rocheville at le cannet.

He moved to Africa in 2010, coaching Ivory Coast’s Asec Mimosas from 2010 to 2012 where he won several national cups.

During the 2012-2013 season, he coached Cotton Sport De Garoua, a club he took to the CAF Champions League semis before losing out to eventual winners Al Ahly.

In 2013, he joined Esperance de Tunis where he won the Championship of Tunisia.

He later signed to recreativo Libolo of Angola before having another brief stint with Dubai Club in United Arab Emirates.

In July 2016, Desabre joined Algeria Sportive de Saoura where he won his fifth league title at African soil.

Two months later, the journeyman joined Wydad Athletic club, succeeding John Toshack.

In August this year, he was named the new Coach of Ismaily SC, a club in Egypt.

On Wednesday, after guiding Ismaily past El Raja in a 5-0 victory, the Frenchman is believed to have handed in his resignation in a meeting held by the club’s board members.
