Bank of Uganda Governor, Prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile last weekend was joined by family and friends to celebrate his 70th birthday.
The celebrations might have come as a much needed breather for the ailing Central Bank Governor, who recently has had to endure weeks of intensive grilling by members of parliament who are probing the closure of seven commercial banks.
The Kabale born Prof Mutebile was born on 27th January 1949 in Ruhita village, Kijuguta ward in the now Kabale Municipality.
The high class, pompous party was held at Sky Hotel in Kampala with several of the governor’s friends including former Prime Minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi in attendance.
Others who graced the party included , Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, Elly Karuhanga, Dr James Musinguzi Garuga, Jack Sabiti, Miria Obote, Former finance Minister Maria Kiwanuka, Prof George Mondo Kagonyera, Prof. Gordon Wavamuno Kampala Club members, Rotary club of Kampala members, Bank of Uganda staff, relatives and friends.
