Polly Namaye Tips Kabale On Masks

Police’s Deputy Spokesperson Polly Namaye has advised residents of Kabale to start adjusting to a new normal of wearing masks whenever they are outdoors.

Namaye says Uganda Police will start enforcing the regulation that requires all Ugandans to wear masks as a way of preventing the spread of Covid19.

Starting May 19th she said, Police will be those found in the open without face masks.

The Police mouthpiece says locals should not worry about buying expensive masks, saying even those locally from simple cloths will be permitted.

“Wearing mask is now becoming a requirement; right now, we are sensitising our people and telling them, please find a mask and wear it before you leave your home,” she said.

“There is not going to be any form of negotiating on wearing face masks by May 19th. We shall be arresting not talking to those who will be found not practising the wearing of masks.

Namaye was yesterday appearing at Voice of Kigezi as part of the national strategic communication team that is on the countrywide sensitisation of the people.

Namaye on the other hand, asked the people bordering countries like Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo to be more vigilant and to report to local authorities all cases of illegal border crossings.
