Police Speak Out on Kaweesi Murder

Police have opened up on the shocking murder of their Spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi, drug calling for calm as investigations in the matter commence.

Emilian Kayima the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson told media at the crime scene at Kulambiro, view that Kaweesi was shot dead this morning at 9:30, store when leaving for work.

Kayima declined to give much more to the murder, promising the more details will be provided later.

He also identified the other two victims as Kenneth Erau, who was Kawesi’s bodyguard and and Godfrey Mandewo, his driver.

He said police together with its sister security agencies will be putting hands together to come to the bottom of the shocking incident.

By publication time, Security Minister Brig Henry Tumukunde had arrived at the scene. Also about a dozen doctors and forensics experts were seen at the cordoned scene.

“We ask Ugandans to remain calm, as we work to manage the situation,” said Kayima.

“We are saddened and well condole his family, his wife and children as well as his friends, for losing their loved one.”


The body of Kaweesi was later taken to Mulago Mortuary, whose security has been taken over by police.
