The Human Resource Directorate of the Uganda Police Force has ordered all unit commanders to immediately compile and report all salary complaints from police officers following the November salary error.
This investigative website learnt that almost all police officers across the country were affected by the error.
Authorities at the security headquarters attributed the error to the newly acquired computer salary payment systems failure.
In the error, police officers received half salary for the month of November while some received double of their pay.
The massive error triggered officers to flock the headquarters early this week to inquire about the shocking development.
However, Following the various inquiries, the Acting Director of Human Resources ACP Muluya Moses has ordered all unit commanders to compile all the November salary complaints from police officers.
He issued a format system that has to be completed by each complainant to be handled over to the headquarters.
Authorities barred complaining officers from the headquarters. “Personnel should not be seen at headquarters following up on the issue,” reads the memo.
Affected officers who spoke to chimp corps on basis of anonymity said that the November error was not the first, “It has been happening, but this time affected many.”
According to the Deputy Police Spokesperson, SP Patrick Onyango, “the system is being worked on, next month things will be okay.”
