Police in Pader district on Thursday recovered an AK47 rifle and 12 rounds of ammunition from its continued robbery investigations in the area.
According to Patrick Okema, the Aswa region police spokesperson, the recovery followed a thorough investigation of the continued armed robberies in the area.
The two most recent happened last week, including one in which a cotton businesslady was robbed Shs5m at gun point.
Okema told this website that the operation was mounted on Thursday morning in which two suspects were arrested.
“The two people arrested are Joe Okello, 24, who confessed buying the gun from South Sudan and Morris Odinga, 38,” Okema said.
He also told this website that the two are in police custody at Pader Police Station pending interrogation to disclose their associates who are still at large.
