Kampala Metropolitan Police have identified the victims of a bomb blast that went off on Saturday in Matugga, a Kampala suburb.
The victims mainly suffered injuries and were rushed to Mulago hospital for treatment.
According to deputy spokesperson for Kampala police Luke Owoyesigire, one person identified as Abdul Yiga died on spot while eight others sustained injuries.
They have been identified as Rogers Matovu from Bombo, a boda boda rider, Moreen Nimbabazi from Bombo, Gerald Kajubi a male adult from Matugga and a one Galiwango.
Others are Rashid Mukasoma, a one Ssalongo, Namulibwa and Fatima Nantongo.
In a statement released earlier by the Uganda Red Cross Society of Uganda, it is alleged the bomb was carried in metal scrap materials by some businessmen in Mabanda area.
Meanwhile, police bomb squad is conducting investigations into the blast that shook Matugga.
