Police Blocks MPs From Serving Speaker, Arrests 2

Police at Parliament was engaged for minutes in a scuffle with Members of Parliament who had a court papers to serve to Speaker of Parliament.

The MPsHon Lubega Seggona, Wilfred Niwagaba  were stopped at the Parliament gate by police officers.

Police were insistent that only officials from the Speaker’s office would have to come to the gate and collect the court papers from the MPs.

The legislators on the other hand wanted to hand deliver injuction to  the speaker.

One of the Police officers made a phone call supposedly to the speaker’s handlers to come pick the papers by for minutues no one was showing up.

Police after a deadlock decided to arrest the MPs and took them to an unknown location.


Ealier this morning six MPs bled by Opposition whip Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda rushed to court to challenge their suspension from Parliament by Speaker Kadaga.

The suspended, Semujju Nganda, Jonathan Odur, Allan Ssewanyana, Gerald Karuhanga, Anthony Akol and Mubarak Manyangwa were accused by the speaker of unrully behavior.

These filed an application to High Court asking to be reinstated in Parliament to participate in the voting on the Age Limit Bill.
