Police in Njeru town, Buikwe district mounted an operation in which it netted 42 women and three men for strip dancing during the festive season.
Helen Butoto, the police spokesperson Sezibwa region, who confirmed the development — informed this website that the operation was carried out due to outcry by residents in that area.
“People have continuously reported to police about the moral decay amongst the youths, especially young school girls,” she said.
The suspects were rounded up at a bar called “WhatsApp” in Naminya village, Wakisi division, Njeru Municipality, Buikwe district on the night of Christmas.
According to Butoto, the bar is allegedly known for harbouring men and women making money through stripping and engaging in sex business.
“They are detained at Njeru Police Station and charged of Public nuisance,”Butoto said.
