Police of Nsangi and Operatives from Kampala Metropolitan South have in custody a man who is suspected to have gruesomely murdered two women.
The suspect identified as Ashraf Sekasi is said to have committed the crimes in February.
Police says they have been investigating two incidents in which two women were murdered in Nsangi.
Reports indicate that a body of one Musimenta was on 6th February, 2020 wound dumped in a maize garden near her home.
“She was raped and killed by unknown people at that stage,” authorities said
Police states that they arrested the husband and some other people but when they were interrogated, they established leads that led to the arrest of Sekasi.
Upon arrest, Police said that Sekasi admitted to participating in the murder of Musimenta and he also confessed to have killed another woman called Mary Nassazi.
Mary Nasazi was killed on February, about two weeks after killing the first victim.
Police spokesman Fred Enanga said that the suspect could target mainly lone women walking home late in the night.
“Due to their vulnerability, he could take up the advantage and lure them into an act of friendship, those who rejected him, he would follow them up and hit them with a blunt object into coma and then rape before killing them,” Enanga said
He further cautioned people especially women to avoid moving alone especially at night if they’re not assured of their safety.
The suspect has been charged of rape and aggravated murder.
