Police in Kampala has Thursday arrested a man who reportedly stole an assortment of equipment from National Identification and Registration Authority ( NIRA).
The suspect in detention at Old Kampala police station is identified as Sulaiman Semakadde, 25, resident of Mutundwe in Rubaga Division, Kampala.
In a statement, Police said that Sulaiman was arrested for being in possession of government properties.
He was picked from his home while looking for market for the stolen property.
Amongst the items that police recovered include 28 cameras, 18 laptops and other accessories.
Luke Owoyesigire the Kampala metropolitan police deputy spokesperson said that Upon arrest, he admitted that the items were stolen.
According to Police, these items were robbed from NIRA offices in Kyankwanzi district on 31st December and indeed a case was registered at Kyankwanzi vide CRB 724/2019.
