Players Abroad: Lubega Nets 14th Goal for Paide, Kizza Stars on Debut

It was yet another action packed weekend for Ugandan born players in the diaspora heading into the international break, ChimpReports yet again brings you a detailed report of their performances.

In the Estonia Meistrilliga, striker Edrisa Lubega “Torres” scored his 14th League goal of the season as Paide Linameskond cruised to a 4-2 win past Narva.

In the Major League Soccer, Left back Mustafa Kizza made his debut at Montreal Impact in a 3-2 win against DC United after coming on as a second half substitute for Sedjic as his club in the Major League Soccer cup playoffs.

In Israel, Timothy Awany played full time while Fahad Bayo played 59 minutes Ashdod FC lost 2-1 to Maccabi Haifa while William Luwagga Kizito played in Hapoel Kfar Saba’s goalless draw with Hapoel Beer Sheva.

In England, right back Elvis Bwomono featured for the entire match as his Southend United side was eliminated from the FA cup, losing 4-3 to Boreham wood in penalties kicks after a 3-3 draw in normal time.

In Turkey, Farouk Miya played 90 minutes as his Konyaspor FC side pipped Mbwana Samatta’s Fenerbache, 0-2 away from home.

In the Swedish Allsvenskun, Ronald Mukiibi featured for 90 minutes as his Ostertunds side lost 2-1 to BK Hackens while Viola Nambi was introduced in the 86th minute as Vaxjo DFF beat Eskilstuna United 2-0 in the Allsvenskan Women.

In Vietnam, Geoffrey Baba Kizito was left out of Than Quang Ninh’s squad that lost 4-0 to Moses Oloya’s Hanoi T&T in the Vietnam V-league Championship.


In South Africa, Moses Waiswa played 55 minutes as his Supersport United lost 1-0 to Bloemfontein Celtic and bowed out of the MTN 8 Cup, finishing 2-1 on aggregate.

In the Zambian Premier League, goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya featured for 90 minutes as his Forest Rangers side drew 1-1 with Lusaka Dynamos.

Elsewhere, Paul Musamali featured for 90 minutes as Buildcon FC beat Power Dynamos 1-0.

In the Linafoot Ligue, left back-cum winger Joseph Ochaya came from the bench in the 86th minute as his TP Mazembe side beat Don Bosco 2-1 in DRC.
