Players Abroad: Dereck Kutesa Grabs Assist for Reims; Full-time Play for Wadada, Ochaya

Ugandan international Derrick Kutesa grabbed an assist during Reims’ two all draw with table leaders Rennes in the French League One on Saturday.

Kutesa came on as a second half substitute in the 65th minute and assisted Boulaye Dia for Reims equalizing goal, a minute after stepping on the pitch.

In the Major League Soccer, Uganda Cranes midfielder Mike Azira was an unused substitute as Chicago Fire drew 2-2 with Montreal Impact in the United States of America.

In the Tanzania Premier League, right back Nicholas Wadada played full time as his Azam FC side cruised to a 4-2 win over Kagera Sugars maintaining their 100% winning start.

Elsewhere, Boban Zirintusa was was not included in the matchday squad due to an injury as his Mtibwa Sugar side were lost 1-0 away to Biashara United.

In Vietnam, Moses Oloya featured for 69 minutes as his Hanoi FC side drew 2-2 with Thanh Hoa in the V-League 1.

Also, Joseph Mpande featured for 90 minutes as Hai Phong FC claimed a 3-1 emphatic win over Sông Lam Nghệ An.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, Joseph Ochaya played the entire match as TP Mazembe fired blanks against Blessings FC in the Vodacom Linafoot season opener.


In Egypt, Khalid Aucho didn’t feature in Misr El Makkasa’s 3-2 defeat to Abdul Lumala’s Pyramid FC in the Egyptian Premier League.

In England, Ikpeazu Mubiru Uche didn’t make the Matchday squad as his Wycombe Wanderers side lost 2-0 to Luton Town in the English Championship.

Elvis Bwomono featured for 90 minutes as Southend FC picked up a vital 1-all draw against Crawley Town in the English league two.

Ritah Kivumbi was introduced in the second half as her Mallbacken IF side lost out to AIK 3-1 in the Swedish Elitettan game

Viola Nambi wasn’t in the matchday squad as her Vaxjo DFF side lost 2-1 to Djurgården IF DFF in the Swedish Damallsvenskan.
