It was fun and excitement as Iteso came together to celebrate their unique cultural diversity at the Teso-Kampala Carnival.
Held at Forest mall, the 4th edition of the Teso-Kampala carnival saw hundreds of Iteso and other tribes embrace the event as they gathered for merry making.
The carnival which was running under the theme “Our Culture, Our Export,” was full of social activities including Cultural exhibitions, Adere Challenge, Ateso challenge, Akogo challenge and entertainment that saw many walk home with several gifts.
Performances were strictly from Teso cultural artists and that included Ibwalet, legendary Mzee Arikosi and other renowned Teso upcoming artists.
There were also lots of food and drinks available for revelers including Eboo, Emangor, Emalakany, Emutukula, Emuna, Einyogole, Ebaale, pasted meat and Ajon.
Kasilo County MP, Elijah Okupa while speaking at the event, applauded Iteso for the unity that is currently being built. He asked Iteso to use unity to spur development.
Okupa lauded the Iteso business community including Kakise Bus Company, City Royale Hotel and Kumi Hotel among others for overwhelmingly supporting the Teso -Kampala Carnival.
The legislator also applauded Isaac Olupot, President Teso At Heart, the brains behind the carnival for his efforts of ensuring the festival was a success and pledged to support Culture as the only unifying and preserving part of the society.
The festival that aims at bringing together all Iteso and other tribes on a one-day networking event and picnic among other amazing activities was a success and attracted Iteso not only from Uganda but Kenya, Ghana and Ethiopia among others.
