Dozens of people have turned up at the Supreme Court in Kampala to listen to the judgement on the constitutional amendment that removed the 75 year age limit on presidential candidates
Security has been tightened both outside and inside court by both uniformed and non-uniformed personnel.
Various politicians from the opposition including Erias Lukwago and Norbert Mao have already taken their seats in a fully-packed court.
The Chief Justice, Bart Katureebe arrived at around 8.30am in a heavily guarded convoy as well as other judges on the panel.
This judgement was supposed to be delivered at 10:00am.
The judges took their seats quite late. By 11:00am, the judges had started reading the judgment.
The seven justices include Chief justice Bart Katureebe, Eldad Mwangushya , Rubby Opio Aweeri, Paul Mugamba , Jotham Tumwesigye and Stella Arach Amoko
The three appellants include Six Members of Parliament led by former leader of Opposition Hon Winnie Kiiza, Hassan Kassim Male Mabirizi and Uganda Law society.
The judgement is very significant as it will determine whether President Museveni can stand for another election after clocking 75 years of age or not.
If the amendment lifting the Presidential age limit from 75 is quashed, President Museveni will not be eligible to stand in the 2021 general elections.
