Uganda Amputee Cranes on Thursday evening left the UPDF Amputees club in shambles after it defeated them 2:0 in a friendly match at Mengo Secondary School in Rubaga division Kampala district.
The match that was organized by Rena Community Development Association saw the two sides sweat it out to a goal-less first half.
It was a disappointment for the UPDF when Alex Mugerwa, a Telecom graduate from Makerere University scored two goals for the Cranes leaving the later with nothing to laugh about.
Speaking to ChimpLyf after the game, Mugerwa said both teams did their best only that he had more magic than they could expect.
“We were a little scared in the first half, but we later gathered ourselves together and showed our magic. UPDF had a good team but the most important thing is that we won and we are now preparing for a friendly match between Angola next year,” he said with a beam of smile.
According to Twaha Katende the CEO Rena Community Development Association, such activities help people with disabilities pick their lost dignity and moral.
“We have been doing this festival for eight years and it has been a positive change for many. It helps in exposing talents from such people since they are taken as minorities,” he said.
The expo saw attendance of city business man Rajiv Ruparelia city tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia who later gave out hundreds of wheel chairs and clutches for usage.
