Comedian Patrick Idringi aka Salvador’s ‘Man from Ombokolo’ show is back, and it is promising even more rib-cracking jokes than the last time.
“I assure you that I will give you the best, it is going to be an edutainment show,” Salvador said during his press launch on Tuesday at Lawns Restaurant, Kololo.
Salvador made his mark in Uganda’s comedy circles in 2015 when he staged the first ever one-man comedy show.
Since then he has gone on to scale even bigger heights, and is currently part of Glo Laffta Fest, a comedy tour in Nigeria.
“Fans coming to ‘Man from Ombokolo’ should expect a show filled with discussions on topical issues, but with a comical element to them.
Since it is going to be a VIP show, we only have one standard fee,” Salvador noted.
He went on to explain that “’Man from Ombokolo’ is going to be a 3-hour show made of taste.” Salvador will also be launching his Dawa Charity foundation that has been helping children in Entebbe and Jinja.
“I was so frustrated that I almost gave up on this year’s show, but I was given a surprise call from Singleton offering to sponsor me and everything was sorted,” he said, before thanking all his sponsors.
Singleton is a single malt whisky in Uganda that is increasingly becoming popular.
“On behalf of UBL, I am pleased to announce that we will be sponsoring this year’s edition of ‘Man from Ombokolo’,” said Annette Nakiyaga, the head of Whisky Portfolio at Uganda Breweries.
She added that they are happy to sponsor Salvado’s one-man show because he is a man made of taste, he is global, and so is Singleton, hence being compatible with their brand.
“Come enjoy the Singleton experience and an evening with the country’s leading comedian; Salvadro is a guarantee for laughter and pleasure,” Nakiyaga asserted.
The comedian has received numerous award nominations this year from Uganda and abroad, with the most notable being a nomination in the Savannah Comics Choice Awards in South Africa, where he made it to the top five.
The show is slated to take place on Friday October 27, 2017 at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.
