Photos: Police Rescue Kiwatule Wine Thief

Ntinda Police this morning had to fend off an angry mob that was baying for a thief who was caught red handed shoplifting.

The unidentified middle aged man was nabbed trying to make off with a bottle of liquor from B&B Groceries, a local supermarket.

The suspect was trying to steal a bottle of Amarula

One of the workers at the store says she saw him sticking the bottle in his jacket.

“I knew him right away, because he had earlier stolen a Black Lebel. This time he came for Amarula,” said Jane one of the employees.

When she confronted him, she says, the man fought back and tried to escape, injuring her in the process.

As people in the neighborhood rushed in to intervene, the supermarket workers locked the doors and called in police.

Officers from Ntinda Police station, minutes later, arrived and apprehended the suspect, driving him off in on a tricycle.
