Rewards of hard work have started showering Uganda Cranes keeper Dennis Onyango and his south African club Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Brazilians as they are commonly referred have been crowned the Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions of the second quarter.
Onyango was in goal on Saturday against his former club Supersport United in the Tshwane derby in which Sundowns bravely won by 2-0 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
The victory sealed Sundown’s spot at the summit of the league with half season games played. PSL Q-INNOVATION concept.
South African Premiership League is divided into Four Quarters, page Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4. Q1 has eight fixtures; Q2 seven; Q3 eight and Q4 seven.
This means after every team has played eight games Q1 is over and Q2 starts with the re-set.
Similarly after every team has played an additional seven games Q2 will be complete and
Q3 will commence with the re-set. So will Q4 commence after every team has played eight
games in Q3 and the re-set.
This is called the Q-innovation. All winners of each quarter are awarded a trophy and money as observed above. The system mainly helps to maintain competition throughout the season.
The South Sudan rebel movement, ed http://communityvet.net/wp-content/plugins/wp-special-textboxes/js/dialog.php SPLA- in-Opposition has said their leader Dr. Riek Machar who is in Uganda had an excellent meeting with President Yoweri Museveni.
Dr Machar flew from Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa to Uganda on Sunday night for an official engagement with Mr Museveni over the stalled implementation of the South Sudan peace process.
ChimpReports learnt that the meeting that was supposed to take place in the morning at Masindi State Lodge only happened late in the night since Museveni who is doing presidential campaigns in the western region first held four rallies in the three districts of Kibaale, Buliisa and Kiryandongo.
The meeting with Machar and his group took place past midnight.
Members of Machar’s delegation, who had previously been stopped in Juba, reached late Monday evening.
In a communication with this reporter at 2:30 am, the Machar rebel movement`s head of information and publicity, Mabior Garang de Mabior confirmed that the meeting took place.
“The First Vice President Designate of the Republic of Sudan and Chairman and Commander in Chief of SPLM/SPLA (IO) Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon just met President Yoweri Museveni January 25th 2016,” part of a communication from Mabior reads.
Mabior who is also the son of the South Sudan founding father, Dr. John Garang said the meeting was excellent and centered on peace in the world’s youngest nation and the whole region.
“The meeting was excellent as expected and touches on the peace in South Sudan and the region,” he added.
Observers say the latest development is a big step forward in reconciling South Sudan warring factions and return stability to the war-torn country.
The SPLA-IO and the government of Kiir have failed to agree on the formation of transitional government which both sides agreed to in a peace treaty signed in August 2016.
Though the details of the meeting in Uganda remain scanty, Museveni is likely talking to Machar to accept the quick formation of the unity government without conditions.
The peace agreement put in place the formation of the Transitional Government of National Unity which is expected to salvage the country for three years.
The transitional government should organize a national elections and also make the country`s constitution before it`s expiry.
