New Vipers SC coach Javier Martinez Espinosa conducted the first training session on Tuesday.
The new coach who was given a two year contract, was unveiled on Monday. Martinez replaces Miguel Da Costa who was sacked two months after winning the league for the club.
28 players turned out for this session which was carried out behind closed doors, away from the media.
Of the 28 players, five are goalkeepers and the rest are outfield players. Club first choice shotstopper Ismael Watenga showed up, despite rumours of his expected exit.
Abram Ndugwa, Rahmat Ssenfuka and Joseph Janjali were some of the new signings that attended the training.
The new coach has been tasked to play a good attacking game, and at the same time continue with the club’s winning culture.
Martinez was born on March 19, 1972 (46 years). He was technical director at Juventus Managua (Nicaragua).
He is a former Head coach of Deportivo Carcha (Guartemala)
Cruz Azul, National Army team (Mexico) and club Pachuca.
During his playing career, he played for Club Athletico (Guatemala), Atlante FC, Celaye and Coban Imperial.
