Former English Premier League star Robbie Fowler has arrived in Uganda for a three-day visit, courtesy of Barclays Bank of Uganda Limited – a member of Absa Group Limited.
The Liverpool Legend landed at Entebbe International Airport on Thursday afternoon at 2:15 PM aboard Emirates Airways.
He briefly met the Journalists in a VIP Press lounge.
After his check in, he was later on entertained by the Kuza Cultural troupe before he was driven away in a Pajero Sport car.
His visit is to give Uganda’s sports great mileage as he joins a list of other legends like Nwanko Kanu, Rio Ferdinand, John Banes and recently Emmanuel Eboue among others that have visited the pearl of Africa in the current era.
Fowler’s three-day visit will see the former Kop share his football knowledge and experience to fans and Barclays Bank customers, and also visit the Brian Umony foundation among other activities.
He will also engage the fans in a Superfans United event at Lugogo Mall on Friday.
Fowler (born 9 April 1975) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker from 1993 to 2012.
He played for Liverpool FC, Leeds United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Cardiff FC, Blackburn etc.
