Authorities in Mbarara municipality have closed 61 schools which they say are falling below the minimum required teaching standards.

A Report has emerged on the closed private schools signed November 2014, unhealthy http://dailyniropekkha.com/wp-admin/includes/bookmark.php by the Mbarara Principle Education Officer Francis Benon Tumwebaze.

The dossier indicated that the schools were closed on the directive of Municipality officers including Mayor Wilson Tumwine, http://center4research.org/wp-admin/includes/class-theme-upgrader.php and Town Clerk Johnson Baryantuma Munono fowwloing a comprehensive screening exercise.

Tumwebaze revealed that some schools, including those with kindergarten sections, were operating in unhygienic structures, mainly rental houses, without sufficient toilet facilities, high triple beds for very young kids, posing health risks to the children.

At some mixed Secondary Schools, adds the report, boys and girls were sharing dormitories and toilets “with no privacy whatsoever,” while others had makeshift classrooms, untidy premises, and had no dining halls or recreation facilities.

Some other school structures were found with wide cracks in their classrooms, no safety arrangement, no fences, burglar proof in dormitories, very close to the road, operating in incomplete residential houses, poor drainage, no lightening arresters, no teaching flame work, expired license, Wooden structures, expiry license for at least 7years back.

The Mbarara Town Clerk Johnson Baryantuma Munono told Chimpreports that most of the affected schools were not registered and lacked qualified teachers.

He asked parents with children in the schools not to be duped into paying for the the soon-to-open first term.

Songstress Iryn Namubiru ended the year 2014 with a blast as she wowed crowds with exciting performances at Sheraton Hotel and Freedom City Mall.

She put up performances to remember as she took the crowds through her love ballads like Kabiki, approved http://davidyoho.com/wp-includes/class-wp-post-type.php Nkuweki and many others.

“It was an awesome moment and opportunity to stay connected to my fans as we ended 2014. Now that 2015 is here, http://citybreakguide.ro/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/sync/class.jetpack-sync-module-callables.php I am going to give the world more of what they love and new smashing stuff that will take the industry by storm,” she told ChimpLyf the next morning.

2014 was a good year for Iryn as she got a new manager and also graduated at Cavendish University with a Bachelor’s in Tourism and Hotel Management.

She headlined at the Grajoh End of Year Concert and is also set to perform in Netherlands later in April.
