It was all glitter and glamour at the first ever edition of the Pearl of Africa Fashion Awards (PAFA) that were held on Saturday at Sky Beach.
Kampala socialites, media personalities and slay queens worked the red carpet in their exquisite gowns and creative unique outfits.
“I was dressed by M&E, Malaika and Ethel,” said media personality Malaika Nnyanzi who was clad in a dark green gown, she got the award for best fashionable events host.
Elegant ladies and gentlemen streamed in early for the fashion event as they posed for photos on the different setup platforms before taking to their seats.
Former Miss Tourism Enid Mirembe who was dressed in a black velvet gown said, “I was excited to get an invite to this event because I am all about fashion. I was dressed by Harm Fashionz Ug.”
State Minister of Tourism and Wildlife, Godfrey Kiwanda also graced the event. He called upon Ugandans to celebrate their fashion style and praised the PAFA organizers for recognizing fashion icons.
“We should stop admiring foreign culture and start looking at how gifted our own people are, that is why I cannot miss such events when am invited because they promote our own talented people,” Kiwanda said.
Numerous fashionistas made it for the event showing off different designs while others picked their awards for excelling above the ordinary.
