The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen. Sabiiti Muzeeyi has celebrated Christmas Day with Police officers on duty at the National Command and Control Centre in Naguru.
He spent the better of his day interacting with the officers in the security control and situation rooms at the headquarters in Naguru.
While there, he re-echoed the importance of CCTV cameras in fighting crime.
Sabiiti commended the officers for operating the different CCTV centres with commitment, encouraging them to continue working hard this festive season so as to curtail crime.
Later, the General joined the officers in cutting the Christmas cake.
The Police this week issued a Christmas message and security tips to Ugandans to enable them go through the festive season safely.
The public was urged to be mindful of opportunistic criminals out there who would wish to take advantage of the slightest opportunity to rob or steal their property.
The law enforcement body said the incidents of violent crimes, which had created fear in the public have been addressed.
