Nothing falls perfectly into place like a public holiday that falls on a Friday. This means a three day weekend and as Uganda celebrated its 58th Independence anniversary last week, Friday October 9th, it couldn’t have been a better timing.
This was a great opportunity for the party crowd in Kampala to get on the wheels, destined for Uganda’s Tourism City, Fort Portal, 290 kilo metres away.
Fort Portal is home to numerous amazing crater lakes which, with no doubt, create such a beautiful scenery that makes it a tourism destination for adventurous people. It is also near both Queen Elizabeth and Kibale National Parks so tourists have a variety of nearby destinations to choose from.
Social media has been awash with fascinating photos from the individuals who flocked Fort Portal to party and celebrate the Independence weekend.
From videos on social media, it’s evident that those who turned up were in a different world as per the trans-night parties that rocked major hangouts like Kyala Courts, Mountains of the Moon hotel and Nyaika Hotel.
Aside from the partying, they also visited some of Tooro’s beauty spots; from National parks, the crater lakes and the eye-catching Amabeere ga nyina mwiru.
