Photos: Foodies Turn in Numbers As Tokosa Food Festival Reveals 5th Edition

Nothing else apart from sickness will stop man’s fancy for good Food, not even heavy rain or too much sunshine.

This was confirmed over the weekend during the 5th Shell gas Tokosa Food Festival that was held at Sheraton Hotel gardens.

The event saw hundreds of Foodies flock the Ternan Avenue based hotel as early as 1 Pm after hours of heavy downpour and by 4Pm, the venue was full with both adults and Kids munching on different food flavors.

There were several restaurants serving different kinds of delicacies that satiated food lovers’ appetency for good and nice dishes.

The festival organized by Shell Uganda and sponsored by Tusker Lite, is an annual event that brings together food lovers and customers of shell gas to share experiences, fun and good food.

It comprised of different activities including cooking competitions such as CEO’s cook-offs, Kids cook-offs and Couples cook-offs among others where winners walked home with lots of gifts courtesy of Shell Gas, Coca Cola and Tusker Lite among others.

The festival was later in the evening spiced by performances from Uganda’s finest music acts including Lilian Mbabazi, the Sundowners, Vinka, Winnie Nwagi, John Blaq and live DJ mixes.

John Blaq was the revelers’ favorite as they were screaming and shouting to show their happiness upon seeing the ‘Makanika’ singer step on stage.

There were also Zumba flash dances headed by Soul Fitness’ Geraldine Opoka that went on and on for several minutes.

The organizers revealed that the proceeds from the festival will go towards improving the wellbeing of children under two charity organizations, Grace Villa in Kabale district and Bless A Child Foundation Uganda.

 

Bless A Child provides Palliative cancer care services for terminally ill children while Grace Villa looks after disadvantaged girls and provides lunch to school going children.
