Two cars were this afternoon smashed by a concrete electric pole along Wilson Road in the city center.
The pole, which according to power distributors, Umeme, was supporting street lighting for Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), is said to have been brought down by a Truck driver.
Traffic came to a standstill, after the incident in which two cars were totally destroyed by the pole.
There were luckily no reported injuries from the accident.
Umeme spokesperson Stephen Ilungole says the area had been isolated and that the customers in that area were being supplied from an underground network.
Police asked members of the public to stay away from the street while Umeme technical teams went to work.
Less than an hour after the incident was reported, lanes in both directions had reopened.
