PHOTOS: 2017 Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards Launched

With almost five months left to the annual, much anticipated event, the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAs) 2017 have been launched.

In a private, invite-only event held at Kampala Serena Hotel, the event— that’s usually spelt out by fashion galore— was renewed for a much bigger 2017 edition.

Socialites, artists and fashion stakeholders graced the launch, which was all about stamping the legacy, and renewing hopes with bigger plans.

To run under the theme “Fashion Take Over” the 2017 edition, according to Brian Ahumuza the CEO, will highlight the need to celebrate individuals who are excelling in the fashion industry in Uganda and turning it into a profession rather than sticking to the glitz and glam.

At the launch, organizers revealed bigger plans for this year’s show, which at the time, is a continental fashion do.

“Every year, we try to make the ASFAS bigger and better. In preparation for this edition, we promise to look back at the past, learn from past errors and shortcomings so as to give you something bigger and better this year,” Brian Ahumuza alias Abryanz revealed.

Roger Agamba, Reserve and IPS Manager at Ciroc, the event’s premium sponsors said: “Cîroc is known world over for being the art of celebration, and we are more than delighted to be a part of this fashion and style celebration at the fifth edition of the ASFAs.”

“Guests should expect nothing short of the luxury and oomph that is synonymous with all Cîroc-infused events,” he added.

The 2017 edition, according to the ASFAs communications manager will introduce two new categories; Fashion Entrepreneur of the year Uganda and Fashion Entrepreneur Africa.

Prior to the event, there’ll also be an ASFA Business workshop where youths will be mentored to “turn their passion into meaningful businesses and profit making ventures.”

On the production side, the 2017 edition, according to organizers will feature South African renowned fashionista David Tlale, Fronto production from Kenya as well as Fenon from Uganda.

The event is slated for December 8,2017 at Kampala Serena Hotel.
