Two youths who were arrested and remanded last month for disrupting Parliamentary proceedings and granted bail last week by City hall court, have written to Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Miriam Ayo Akello seeking to have their bail terms reviewed.
The accused, Charles Mutaasa Kafeero and Ssenjako Dafala, through their lawyers of Kiiza and Mugisha Advocates allege that they were asked to present original copies of their National Identity Cards which they lost during the arrest process.
Their lawyer says although his clients managed to fulfill the cash term, they have not been released since they have failed to deposit their Identity cards in court as per bail ruling.
Buganda Road Chief Magistrate and the City Hall Magistrate court have acknowledged receiving this letter.
On February 2020 Charles Mutaasa Kafeero and Ssenjako Darfla jumped from the Parliamentary Gallery into the chambers, disrupting proceedings.
Upon falling on the floor they started blaming the legislators for being corrupt and later they were arrested by security at Parliament.
