Over 50 government agencies are expected to showcase different digital innovations at the impending E-Government Excellence Exhibition.
The 2-day exhibition which will take place from 20th to 21th of June 2019 at the Garden City Rooftop is part of the bigger E-Government excellence awards that were launched last week by the National Information and Technology Authority (NITA) last month.
The exhibitors will include government entities, development partners, innovators, the academia, utility companies and private sector that have done a great job in innovating digital platforms and products aimed at improving service delivery.
While orienting a group of government agency representatives at NITA offices in Kampala today, Vivian Ddambya, the Director Technical services NITA Uganda asked all government agencies to actively participate in the exercise and market their digital products
“NITA is giving you free space to showcase your innovations to the public. Please take this opportunity seriously. A lot of government agencies have products that very few people know about and are using. This is your opportunity to put your innovations out there” she said
As part of the Annual awards, NITA will also publish an E-Government magazine that will include articles from various participating entities highlighting their digital journey on how embracing digitalization has improved service delivery to citizens
The Magazine will be unveiled at the final Awards gala that is scheduled on 27th of June 2019. The awards are themed ‘Bold Digital Government: unlocking service delivery
