The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah has said he found Kyadondo East Members of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi and Mityana Municipality’s Francis Zaake in a lot pain when he visited them today.
Mr. Oulanyah visited Bobi Wine and Zakke at Makindye Military Barrack and Rubaga Hospital respectively on Wednesday morning.
He spoke to journalists immediately after a short interaction with doctors at Rubaga Hospital.
“What I have seen is that both of them are in a lot of pain. Bobi Wine was able to come and sit and talk with me at the table. We joked, we laughed but he is in a lot of pain,” Oulanyah told journalists.
The Deputy Speaker said he interacted with the doctor managing the condition of Bobi Wine and realized that the latter doesn’t have any internal injury.
“There is something called muscle spasm in his left back but besides that there is no any other complication,” he stated.
On Zaake, Oulanyah said the Mityana Municipality legislator is equally in “a lot of pain”.
“I have just seen Hon. Zaake here. Similar situations; he is in a lot of pain. He has wounds in his left fingers and I saw one on his left side,” he said.
The Deputy Speaker noted that none of the legislators has internal injury and they are all out of danger.
“They have all been taken to MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), there are no internal injuries and there is no internal bleeding. All injuries are external arising from what they both said severe beating when they were arrested,” he noted.
The two legislators were arrested during the chaotic Arua municipality by elections.
