Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga is steadily recovering from an illness that saw her rushed to Nakasero Hospital and later flown to Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.
Kadaga’s deputy, Hon Jacob Oulanyah says the Speaker is better than when she was initially admitted on Thursday.
“She is unwell,” said Oulanya.
“But it is not true that she is dead. From the situation of two days ago, she has improved tremendously,” he added.
Oulanya was Saturday speaking at the funeral ceremony of Parliament publicist Chris Obore’s son Lucas Emoru Obore in Bukedea district, in Eastern Uganda.
He warned against dissemination of fake news.
“If something is not true, please don’t report it. If it’s true, report it.”
At the function, Oulanya comforted Obore following Lucas’ death.
Lucas succumbed to pneumonia on March 21, 2019 at Life Link Hospital, Namugongo, Kampala.
Oulanya also urged Obore to “focus” and derive strength from pain to rise and shine.
The burial ceremony attracted lawmakers, businessmen, journalists and locals.
