Tomorrow Tuesday June 9, 2020, is a public holiday as Uganda commemorates Heroes day.
Unlike previous commemorations, this year’s anniversary will be held in a scientific way without any public gatherings across the country because of COVID-19.
According to the statement issued by the Minister for Presidency Esther Mbayo, only 30 guests will attend the celebrations at State House Entebbe to represent the rest of Ugandans.
“The main celebrant will be H.E President Yoweri Museveni who will commemorate the day from State House Entebbe with only 30 guests that will represent the rest of Uganda,” said Mbayo in a statement on Monday.
She added, “Ugandans are therefore urged to celebrate this historical day from their homes and observe safety in this COVID-19 period.”
The commemorations will be held under the theme: celebrating a memorable day as we reflect on the selflessness of the heroes and heroines who put nation above all else.
