Onduparaka Football Club have confirmed they will play a preseason friendly game against Singida FC from Tanzania.
The Arua based side confirmed the buildup game through club PRO, Adams Vegas Otelul.
“Yes, it is confirmed. We shall play a preseason build up game against Singida FC from Tanzania,” Otelul told ChimpReports.
The said friendly game is slated for August 13, 2017 at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo as part of the preparation ahead of the new season expected to kick off on September 12.
Singida FC a newly promoted side in the Tanzania Super League is also making preparations ahead of the new season.
They have already played several teams within Tanzania and have planned about 5 friendlies with clubs from Burundi, Uganda and Kenya.
Already, Singida United has recruited various players in a two-year contract namely Ken Ally (Mbeya city), Pastory Athnas (Simba), Salum Chuku (Toto Africans), Atupele Green(JKT Ruvu), Roland Msonje(Mshikamano FC), Daniel Usengimina(Police Rwanda), Shafiq Batambazi (Tusker FC), Nihivi Simbarashi (Mamelodi Sundowns), Micheal Usheshagonga(APR) and Wisdom Mutasa(Chicken Inn FC).
Equally, Onduparaka have beefed up their squad with several new acquisitions including Karim Ndugwa, Nicholas Ssebeato and Bob Kasozi among others.
The duo of Rashid Toha and Mohammad Shaban who had gone to Supersport United (South Africa) for trials have returned and were part of the training on Monday.
This is not the first time that Onduparaka are facing a foreign opponent. The caterpillars defeated Kenya’s Gor Mahia 2-0 in a friendly game played on February 4, 2017 at Mandela National stadium.
Onduparaka finished 5th in their maiden season in the Uganda Premier League and will be seeking to peeform better next season.
