Uganda could have registered a 3-0 win against Lesotho on Saturday but the result does not entirely paint the whole picture of what transpired in the game.
Lesotho despite losing had a couple of chances on the day but were not effective enough to burry their chances.
Emmanuel Arnold Okwi who scored two of the three goals shares similar sentiments and believes the return leg in Maseru will be tough.
Okwi who plies his trade at Tanzanian outfit Simba SC indicates Lesotho is not a bad team and the thus the Cranes will need to even work harder on Tuesday.
” I thank God that we managed to win the game at home. It helps us edge closer to our target of qualifying.” He said.
” Lesotho is not a bad team like you all saw here. They will therefore put up a fight at home and therefore we need to work harder in Maseru.” Okwi indicated.
Okwi scored the opening goal in the 11th minute before winning a penalty midway through the first half. Farouk Miya converted the resultant penalty.
He later sealed the victory with the third goal in the second half. Uganda now leads group L on seven points.
