The athlete, who trailed for the better part of the 24 laps, would later surge forward like a cheetah, stretching his dangerous Kenyan rival, Josephat Bett to the breaking limit before scooping a gold medal.
Bett had already started celebratings thinking he had emerged victorious only to be rudely awakened by the replay which showed he was behind the Ugandan star by 0.03 seconds.
Despite struggling with injuries and a poor form in the last few months, Kipsiro’s epic heart-bursting sprint plunged Uganda into wild celebrations.
Earlier in the day, Museveni congratulated Gold medal winner Joshua Cheptegei for his recent outstanding performance in the 10,000 metre World Junior Championship race that took place in USA in Oregon State from July 22 to 27.
“Thank you Moses Kipsiro and Winnie Nanyondo for inspiring Uganda and Africa with medals at tonight’s Commonwealth championship,” Museveni tweeted a few minutes towards midnight.

Kipsiro was quoted by SuperSport as saying, “I thank God because I was not expecting to make it but there was a voice that kept saying, go for it, you will make it and I won.”
Hampered by injuries and lack of form this season, Kipsiro knew he had to run smart if he was to triumph in the race, “I stayed behind for most of the race because I knew that If I held back then with 100 metres to go I could produce a kick so I delayed to conserve my energy before going for it.”
He added: “I was kicking hard but I could see Bett was also moving and I was praying, God, please let me reach there first. At the finish I used a trick I learnt over the years- to push my chest forward and that is what won me the gold.”

It’s reported that Male was nabbed after a fellow administrator at the Hospital alerted Police after realizing that he (Male) was hiding the computer and fencing poles belonging to the Hospital at his home.
On learning this, information pills Police contacted Male who was at the time in Kampala on a private trip. They had to trick him saying that a bomb had been detected in his neighborhood and that it was most likely inside his house so Police wanted to be sure it wasn’t there.
Male hence directed them to a friend that kept a set of keys to the house who gave it to them and they checked the house where they found the said materials.
According to workers at the Hospital, this was not the first time that the administrator was involved in such a mess as earlier it had also been discovered that he had been stealing Hospital Mattresses and selling them to individuals setting out to open private health centers.
Lyantonde District Health Officer Okoth Obo says that they have started listing all the missing equipment to investigate and find out if they had also been taken by Male so that they are recovered.
Male however denied stealing the Hospital property and told ChimpReports that he had brought the computer to his home located in Kooki D, Lyantonde Town Council so that he could easily do his work from there.
Male also said that the metal poles which were intended for fencing the Hospital had been brought by the contractor awaiting the fencing phase.
He also noted that the Health workers who were implicating him were doing so because he had stopped them from cheating patients by charging them for health services.
Male added that, one Bashir, a Mortuary attendant who was also agitating for his punishment was doing so because he (Male) once found him in the dental room working as a dentist, something that he warned him against repeating.
Lyantonde Police Station DPC, Henry Mugarura said that it was unpatriotic that instead of protecting public property Male was stealing it and that a case SD 24/25/07/2014 had been filed against him on that note.
