Striker Tonny Odur has been named Express FC player for the month of October following his brilliant performance since his return to the club at the start of the season.
Odur emerged winner in an online voting process conducted via the club’s official social media platforms (Facebook and Twitter).
The veteran striker beat midfielder Ibrahim Kayiwa, Michael Birungi and Eric Kambale who have also been in fine form for the Red Eagles.
He scored two goals and made as many assists in the month of October helping the team garner 11 points in their opening six games.
Express FC managed 11 points in the first round last season (from 15 games). This therefore indicates that there has been an improvement.
Odur’s two goals have both come away from home that is in the 3-1 win against Police FC and the recent 3-1 against Paidha Black Angels in Arua.
Asked about how he felt about the recognition, Odur believes this will motivate him to work harder and help the club attain its targets.
“I’m happy with the recognition as the best player for the club last month but I would not say it has been individual effort. We have worked together as a team. I believe this will motivate me to work harder and score more goals so that I help the club attain the set targets.”
Odur joined Express FC from Vipers SC for his third stint at the club. Besides Vipers SC and Express FC, he has also played for KCCA FC, Braband IF and Nkana Red Devils
