Nyege Nyege Festival has Monday 17, extended it’s ‘special Sauce’ to the long reigning musical event; Sauti Za Busara Festival in Zanzibar.
Nyege Nyege Festival was launched the year that Sauti Za Busara did not happen. The two festivals have joined hands in an effort to exhibit East African friendship, integration and support in the thriving East African music industry.
Nyege Nyege has always been inspired by the Zanzibari Festival which has showcased some of the most exciting acts on the continent for over ten years. Nyege Nyege has brought its legendary ‘fire’ to co-host the official Sauti za Busara after party, where over 6 acts performed at the event on February 17, 2020.
The acts included; International star DJ Kampire fresh off her Australian debut along a lineup of East African artists on the Nyege Nyege Roster; Uganda’s DJ Decay, Kenya’s Makossiri, South Sudan’s Turkana and Nyege Nyege Tanzanian artists from Dar Es Salaam, Jay Mitta and Rehema Tajiri among others.
The organizers of Nyege Nyege were in attendance, scoping for exciting acts for this year’s edition of Nyege Nyege.
Dates have already been set from September 3 all the way to 6th for this year’s action packed music and arts festival. However, the theme and lineup still remain unknown.
