Nwoya Woman MP Denies Beating Up Opponent’s Supporters

Nwoya Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Lilly Adong has refuted allegations that her supporters beat-up supporters of her opponent.

On Monday, Micheal Okello Joel, an NRM Mobilizer for Koch-goma sub-county came out and blamed supporters of Hon. Adong for attacking him in a clash in which he lost a finger.

Addressing Journalists on Wednesday, Hon. Adong who is running on an Independent ticket labeled the accusation against her as a sinister plot by her opponents to tarnish her name.

‘”Today I come out to refute allegations that I organized gangs of my supporters to attack supporters of my opponents. It’s not true, I have not done it and I can’t do it.’’ Said Hon. Adong

The Nwoya Woman MP added that these allegations are being spread by her opponent, Judith Peace Acan.

“My opponents started tarnishing my name immediately after the primary elections; they published my pictures with a logo of people power and distributed it all over Nwoya district.’’

She revealed that the fight between the Nwoya NRM Mobilizer and other people was not political, but rather, a disagreement between  the NRM Mobilizer  and a  woman he was wooing that night.
