National Unity Platform party (NUP) has condemned the police raid on its offices in Jinja District on Thursday morning where two people were arrested.
Joel Senyonyi said “heavily armed police officers” raided the Jinja office in the morning and their attendant arrested plus one of the coordinators.
“You then hear our leaders say that they returned democracy to the country. Just like their predecessors they too will go,” Senyonyi said.
Security forces have for the last two weeks been carrying out operations in enforcement of the UPDF law which bars the public from wearing its clothing.
NUP offices in Kampala were raided by a joint military operation by Uganda Police Force, Uganda People’s Defense Forces and the Local Defense Unit.
