NSSF Scoops Gold Award at ICPAU’s Financial Reporting Awards 10th Edition

NSSF has won the top most award at the 10th Financial Reporting (FiRe) Awards.

The annual awards organized by the Institute of the Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) saw the NSSF win the overall gold award for Integrated Financial Reporting of the year.

The organizers revealed that NSSF stood out with its exceptional report with a comprehensive explanation, clarity showcased and it addressed the company’s clear perspective for the future among others.

Speaking at the event, CPA Fredrick Kibedi, President ICPAU applauded the organizations which were able to submit their financial reports amidst Covid-19.

“It’s such a great honour for all of you who were able to successfully submit your financial reports most especially in this critical period. As you all know, most entities found it challenging to work ever since covid-19 broke out but the fact that you were able to submit your reports is not any simple thing and we don’t take it slightly. We hope for the best in next year’s episode,” Kibedi said.

Established way back in November 2011, the awards have attracted small, medium and large entities to participate over the years.

Some of these include; Stanbic Holdings Limited, NSSF, dfcu Bank, UDB, Wazalendo, Ysave and ERA among others.

The 10th edition of the FiRe Awards saw over 84 organizations/ entities participate in this special edition held via a webinar in adherence to the Covid-19 preventive measures.


The awards are aimed at promoting and enhancing the quality of financial and business reporting for business growth in Uganda, by encouraging the implementation of financial reporting standards as well as other best practices in financial reporting.
