NRM to Close Picking of Expression of Interest Forms Tomorrow

Dr Tanga Odoi, the chairperson of National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission has announced that they will close the ongoing exercise of picking forms by people interested in Parliamentary seats tomorrow  Thursday, July 30.

Addressing the press at his offices on Plot 13 Kyadondo, Odoi said that the exercise had been scheduled to close on Friday but this will not be possible since it will be a public holiday.

“I would like to call upon all aspirants for parliamentary seats and LC 5 chairpersons that they have only today and tomorrow to pick forms,” Odoi said.

Odoi pointed out that after these, they will resume with chairpersons of Local Government three as well as councilors.

These forms will be returned at the NRM Electoral Commission offices for exercise at regional basis so as to avoid large crowds.

“From August 14 to 15, it will be nomination for MPs and LC 5 chairpersons for Central region and Kampala, August 17 to 18 will be for those from Eastern region well as the 19th and 20th August will be for those who would have missed out,” he said.

He further asked all those who have already taken the forms to study the road map clearly so as to avoid being caught off guard.

So far, a large number of incumbents and hopefuls have already picked forms to contest for various parliamentary seats on the NRM ticket.
