Hon Richard Todwong the Deputy Secretary General for National Resistance Movement (NRM) has asked all upcountry staff in NRM party offices to serve all candidates intending to contest in the forth coming elections fairly.
This has come at a time when the party has closed the nomination of candidates willing to contest for positions at Central Executive Committee (CEC), at the same time still issuing nomination forms to all other individuals willing to stand on various elective positions in the 2021 general elections.
Meeting the District Administrative Secretaries at party headquarters at plot 10 Kyadondo road Kampala, Todwong expressed the need for these officials to serve all party candidates without any form of discrimination.
“Don’t take sides but attend to all candidates equally,” Todwong said adding, “as staff, don’t attend candidates’ meetings unless it’s an official event involving all concerned individuals.”
The Admins were reminded that they are fully answerable to the Rt. Hon. Secretary General and warned against undermining her office.
At the same event, Todwong issued the official stamps and other items that will be used in the internal party elections.
These stamps will be used in endorsing the Party Candidates for the Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
“Use the stamps for official work only,” the Deputy SG emphasized.
In her remarks to the district administrative secretaries, the Deputy National Treasurer Hon. Jacqueline Kyatuhaire revealed that the Secretary General issued a directive requiring all offices which were closed in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic to resume operations in observance of SOPs.
She further pointed out that each office was getting sanitizers, a plastic can for hand washing, a temperature gun and 200 masks.
Among other participants in the meeting was Hon Mathias Kasamba, the Director-Mobilisation and the Senior Manager-Finance and administration Aron Kashamba.
