The Otuke district LC5 Chairman, Odongo John Bosco has won Friday’s National Resistance Movement party primary elections to retain his seat in the 2021 general elections.
The Otuke district NRM Electoral Commission Returning Officer, Ouni Boniface yesterday evening declared Mr. Odongo the winner with 16,969 votes representing a resounding victory of 61%. Odongo’s only challenger, Genesius Benson Ogwang Ogoo got 10,771 (39%).
Odongo is also the Chairperson Uganda Local Government Association (ULGA) for northern region.
Meanwhile, in Dokolo, Ogwang Ambrose Awitong was declared the winner after flooring five other candidates, including a lady.
The Dokolo district NRM election officer, Omara Isaac declared Ogwang the winner with 9,932 votes followed by Odongo Fredrick Dickens with 6,946.
The only female in the race Kia Molly Beatrice got 6, 770 votes and youthful Okello Hilary came fourth with 2,461 votes.
The other two candidates Odur Leo and Ojok Benson got 1583 and 1479 votes respectively.
