The state minister for finance planning David Bahati has hailed the work of the ruling NRM government in putting women issues at the forefront, and into the deserving place in society.
While meeting Kabale district NRM party leaders, Bahati who is also the District NRM chairman said as part of boosting health services, the NRM government has built 13 health centers in the 15sub-counties of Kabale district and immunized children against the killer diseases to almost 95percent and distributed mosquito nets to every house household.
This he said has helped save lives of children and women.
The minister appealed to women to ensure continuity of this trend which he said can only be guaranteed by President Museveni and the NRM government.
He also advised women to continue advising their children and husbands to avoid violence during the current political campaigns.
“We appeal to you to advise your children especially youths and even your husbands to work for peace in the current political situation. Please let them avoid violence because if our youths die, it’s you the mothers who Labor for 9 months who will feel the pain most.”
Bahati also advised women to join the new government programs like “Emyooga program where government has invested over Shs 260billion”.
The meeting was attended by the all women MPs from Kabale, Rukiga and Rubanda.
