No One Injured In Naalya Fuel Truck Explosion, Police Speaks Out

Police have confirmed that not a single person was injured in the road accident that occurred Friday morning, in Naalya along the Kampala Northern Bypass.

The accident involved a fuel truck which caught fire after collision with another vehicle.

Police in a statement said the incident happened at around 11am at Naalya near Bethany High school in Kira Municipality

According to Police, the Fuso number   UAW 641D, which was carrying both petrol and diesel belonging to Don Uganda LTD was knocked by an overlapping Subaru Legacy number UBD 202B.

Police identified the driver of the truck as David Mpalanyi, 35, a resident of Nansana whereas the Subaru driver was still unidentified.

Following the collision, the rear tyres of the Fuso came off and it overturned hence catching fire .

“Nobody was injured, fire brigade visited the scene to put out the fire,” the police revealed.

“The motor vehicle involved specifically the legacy has been towed away to Kiira Police station and the fuso wreckage is still stuck at the scene , efforts to tow it away are still underway.”
