Nigerian Singer Tekno Loses Voice, Suspends Performances

Nigerian pop star Augustine Miles Kelechi popularly known as Tekno will not be performing for a long time after reportedly suffering from a temporary damaged voice box.

The voice box, or larynx, is the portion of the respiratory (breathing) tract containing the vocal cords which produce sound.

It is located between the pharynx and the trachea. The larynx, also called the voice box, is a 2-inch-long, tube-shaped organ in the neck.

According to his manager Ubi Franklin, singer who was in Uganda last year has lost the vocal box temporarily to strain from overtime performances.

Tekno lost his voice

“He had tried to downplay the severity of his ailment hoping it will be short-lived but after further diagnosis doctors have advised that he takes time out to fully recover. His vocal box is temporarily damaged due to strain from overtime performances and cannot sing or perform for a while,” Ubi Franklin wrote on social media.

The ‘Diana’ singer also went on to assure his fans that he will back to the scene within no time.

“I have been away and on treatment. Please, don’t be upset, that I can’t make it to shows I have been booked for. I’m taking time out to fully recover and hopefully get back to doing what I love soonest! I apologize, and if you can please pray for me… God watch over us all! Thank you”, Tekno stated.
