New Zealand Demolish She Cranes in Last Group Game

World number two and tournament favorites The Silver Ferns from New Zealand have romped into the semifinals of the 2015 Netball World Cup after overwhelmingly thrashing a hapless She Cranes by 76-33.

Silver Ferns attacking duo of Malia Paseka (13/15) and Jodi Brown (7/8) inflicted the damage as early as the first quarter marauding the She Cranes defense of Betty Namukasa and Alice Nteza in goal to put 20 goals into the net.

The game began with Ugandan duo Stella Oyella and Florence Amono failing to convert three consecutive chances gifting New Zealand to go ten goals up. Stella (1/2) then grabbed one back, troche Amono (2/4) adding two more but that was all the Ugandans could offer in the first quarter losing 20-3.

Peace Proscovia returned into the team registering 100% shooting rate scoring in all her ten attempts to give Uganda 13 goals plus three from Rachael Nanyonga but was six short of Malia and Brown’s opposite effort.

New zealand headed into halftime leading with 23 points (36-16). The Silver Ferns came back revitalized claiming the 3rd and 4th set 17-8 and 20-19 respectively. Uganda will play against Wales who finished third in group F for the 5th-8th playoff place. The game will be played on Saturday 15th August at Allphones Arena
