The four recently appointed senior UPDF soldiers into the police force on Monday assumed their offices and started work officially.
The officers were appointed by President Yoweri Museveni who is also commander in chief of the armed forces.
He sent them to the police force and handed them key positions all at the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP)
The handover was made at police headquarters Naguru and was presided over by the Deputy inspector general Maj.Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi.
He welcomed and urged them to feel at home and also commended the outgoing officers for the job well done for the time they have served in their respective directorates.
Amongst them, AIGP Brigadier Jack Bakasumba will be the Chief of Joint Staff (CJS) and AIGP Brigadier Godfrey Golooba will take up the Directorate of Human Resource Development and Training replacing AIGP Haruna Isabirye, who is heading to New York as the police attachée to the Ugandan Mission.
AIGP Colonel Jese Kamunanwire, the Director Human Resource Administration, replaces AIGP Moses Balimwoyo, who now moves as Director Interpol and International Relations.
He also replaces SCP Oyo Nyeko Benson, who was Acting Director and now heads to the AFRIPOL Headquarters in Algiers as the Police Liaison Officer.
Lastly, AIGP Col Chris Serunjoji Damulira,m is the new Director Crime Intelligence and replaces SCP Chombe Amur who is transferred as Deputy Director Interpol and International Relations.
